To help ensure timely delivery of propane to your residence, we encourage you to participate in our scheduled delivery service. Without participation, an out-of-gas event may incur an additional fee for placing your propane system back in service. By taking advantage of our scheduled delivery program and adhering to our credit policy, you can avoid these unnecessary charges.
You can have confidence in our scheduled delivery program. Our propane personnel utilize a state-ofthe- art computer model that determines propane consumption in your home. The system accurately accounts for the temperature changes during the winter months and sends a message to our propane personnel that your tank will need to be filled well ahead of it running out of gas.
There may be times, however, that our computations do not reflect increased usage of propane. For instance, family activities in the home, such as during the holiday season, may increase your propane consumption beyond our calculations. Adding another gas-burning appliance will also increase your consumption, so please inform us when an additional gas appliance is installed. Also, if you see that your tank percentage has fallen below 20%, contact us right away to avoid an out-of-gas event.
At FS, our propane programs are designed to make certain you are supplied with propane, your propane system is safe, and your family’s comfort is maintained.
Full Prepayment Option allows customers to pay for all of their year’s estimated propane usage up front at the fixed price. As the tank is filled, each load is billed against the prepayment credit. Any gallons used over the original contracted amount during the contract period will be priced at the current rate.
Per-Gallon Deposit Option allows customers to lock in a low price for the entire heating season on the gallons they contract without paying for the total cost up front. This option requires a small per-gallon deposit, which is applied to each gallon delivered until the contract has been delivered in full. The balance of each delivery must be paid according to credit policy statement terms.
The budget payment program reduces seasonal surprises by spreading annual propane expenses throughout the year. Annual propane usage is estimated by factoring in size and energy efficiency of the home, number and kind of appliances that use propane, and previous years’ usage and divided into equal payments. If usage is different than expected, the balance is billed, credited toward the next year, or refunded as appropriate. This convenient program helps you manage your heating budget.
Any of the above payment programs can be combined with our summer fill program to take advantage of typically low summer propane prices. Through one of the prepayment options or your budget payment program, prices can be set for the year. And you’ll be prepared for the winter months with a full tank of propane. Our goal is to make your payment experience as convenient and comfortable as possible. Let our propane professionals help you select the right program for your needs.
Propane is a clean-burning, efficient, safe, and cost-effective fuel. Propane provides more versatility, affordability, and home comfort than any other heating choice — it’s that simple. Best of all, propane systems can help you slash energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions — up to 68%.
The majority of propane used in America is produced domestically, making it easy to access. It’s delivered to local retailers through a well-structured regional distribution system. Propane may also be stored on-site and used directly in appliances, so compared with electricity, less energy is lost in transmission.
Heating systems that rely solely on electric resources are associated with the production of more greenhouse gases than propane because the production of electricity often utilizes forms of energy that produce significant amounts of greenhouse gases. In contrast, the clean-burning qualities of propane make it the green fuel of choice.
With propane as your fuel, you can take comfort in knowing that you are using one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly forms of energy available.
